....We also have many connections and analyses beyond these locations and many of our recommendations will apply to any location.
Why not Italy, Greece or Japan, or Spain or Portugal? I love Italy and Greece, and my sister used to have a radio show in Japan and loved the culture. Portugal is ok but for me maybe #10 or 11. Spain, seems to be improving, but still not in my top 10. All very nice places historically, but a relocation or plan B is future looking, and all have very bad economic and demographic positions and outlook, and with strong political links to the same places most of us are relocating from. Beautiful, and possible but you have to ask yourself what is your purpose. Small Caribbean Islands, import their food and all are controlled by someone else. Good as a part of a larger plan for some, but with considerations. A lot of different places can work and you have to know your objectives, climate preferences, finances and worldview.
While every need is different, we will also share where we decided not to go and why, and where to find networks of like-minded people who are making the same decisions as you.
Puerto Rico - Good for US persons wanting low tax, live 180+ days in Caribbean, keeping US ties and territory, easy US flights, growing crypto community, choice of resort living bubble or mountain life. The main language is Spanish, but in cities and most places can get by with English in combination with attempts with a few Spanish words to show respect. Important to understand the history of PR's relationship with the US from a social and economic perspective, to understand local culture, but can be a good choice. Hosts a US military base, but small relative to PR as a whole.
Dubai - Good HQ for global structure / business entity and remote lifestyle. Solid offshore banking, BRICS hedge, low tax, nice city environment, low to medium cost modern living. good for split with 2nd residency in sustainable location. Can be used to access US markets while not being part of US global tax net. English speaking and very city/western feel. Current situation to watch given situation with Iran, but structural items still strong. The government has shown which way it will lean politically which should be considered, and livability should return after hostilities cease, with the advantage of lowered RE prices. You don't need to live there to benefit from Dubai residency, or a business entity. Many view Dubai and Panama as similar strategic tools, in a relocation toolkit. While both work, my preference is still Dubai currently.
Costa Rica - Good for the beach-life sustainable part of the global plan. Can be resort home by the beach or condo or sustainable mountain life or a mix. Price levels rising a bit but still manageable. Crypto friendly businesses and environment. Can be a chore after a while dealing with rainy season, in spite of the pleasant climate, and mud roads to homes in certain beach areas but choosing condos or near-town properties can solve that to a certain extent. More westerners and some English spoken if preferred to a totally foreign environment. Banks are there but not great, best to have offshore banking to supplement. Good for a 1-step Plan B Lite and people wanting more of a vacation feel.
Paraguay - Low cost of living. Growing economy and infrastructure. Modern pleasant city-center many new skyscrapers and a few western style malls, but also countryside which has a modest culture but workable and very cost-effective farmland if you are looking for a sustainable farm with a modern city very close, so you can have both lives. Restaurants hotels and food - its not Dubai, but good selection western standard in the cities - less in the country areas - plan in advance. Subtropical and warm most of the year but does have seasons. Not a lot of English spoken but people are usually very patient and helpful. Some German and Japanese communities, that have been there 2+ generations. Banks are there but not great, best to have offshore banking to supplement. Paraguay has a very self-sufficient economy and is away from political hotspots. No beach, but resorts have huge 750m pools and can drive to Brazil if you need beach time. Works for a Plan B Lite or a larger part of a global restructure.
Our Goal
Today many people are looking for global alternatives, and for a variety of different reasons.
My goal is to allow you to leverage the experience and knowledge I have gained in my own relocation journey, but at a fraction of the cost. The world is constantly changing and my goal is to provide a realistic view of offshore alternatives, the decisions that I made and why, how to shortcut decisions some get stuck on, avoid common pitfalls and give practical methods to achieve your goals.
I entered Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Dubai and Paraguay (business entities in each and personal) all without assistance from a global relocation company. My local contacts I share, I found myself, boots on the ground and making calls, and by networking with others doing the same. But the planning and research took me a lot of time, many boots on the ground travel missions, and a research assistant, and my path changed several times. The options, business and lifestyle realities in each location are complex.
I can help unpack some of the complexities to make your path more direct and therfore more efficient both in terms of cost and time.
We specialize in businesses and individuals with net worth under $1 million USD.

Scenarios
Each client's goals are different, here are some potential scenarios
We are primarily* a planning and information service to help you explore the global path that is best for you.
We do not do fixed fee managed plan implementation as we think that creates the potential for inefficiency and conflict of interest. Instead we provide reasonable prices for bite-sized helpful sessions and referrals to keep your process moving forward. While we provide our personal opinion on possible strategies for international banking and legal structures, we do not participate in the actual set-up process.
* In Paraguay we provide "boots on the ground" real estate search and acquisition consulting targeting Paraguay pricing not "foreigner" pricing you will get through the local realtor agencies. Our team speaks Guarani and Spanish for farmland negotiations, but with top level English-speaking legal support. Hands-on assistance as well as in-person introductions and personalized city and countryside tours teaching local customs.
* In Dubai we can provide in person services, based on needs.
* Our security consultant provides certain in person services, based on needs.
